Inspired by Reggae and the “King”Marley, his viewpoint of Life and how we choose to handle it along with any circumstance which presents itself, this image of Simplicity came across my mind in the eyes of this unknown Brother whose eyes, to me, breath the intensity behind simplicity into reality. From my mind the image swam downstream to my hands where my graphite pencil met yellow construction paper bringing the Intensity behind Simplicity to Life.
May you feel the intenseness in his eyes and appreciate Simplicity.

I stood there blown away by the rawness of the moment... as I looked up from my camera from capturing another photo. I saw her, standing there, cradling this infant boy, with a bracelet, no doubt, professing truth that has been so unfortunately lost upon so many, for generations. This epic movement, at this epic time, forces us all to act, even if we are simple making a bracelet for all of our infant children. After she granted me permission, this photograph was captured. May you see the truth in her eyes.

From 2-8 p.m. on June 6, 2020 thousands of protesters separated by Marching Routes walked the streets surrounding the National Historic Site of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Atlanta, Ga. This particular photo was captured at 5:42:02 pm as one group was completing their section of the march.

Singer & Songwriter Casian Moore caught me off guard as I turned to see him standing there. He welcomed the photo opp at the MLK National Historic Site. Then shared brief stories about himself and why he choose to paint these words on his shirt. Follow him on Instagram at casianmoore and check out his amazing music.

About the Artwork

Throughout the duration of the Rally in front of Morrow City Hall and the March down to the Southlake Shopping Center, these brothers, regular civilians, yet strapped to the T... wearing bullet proof vests, carrying knives and all... I noticed kept their eyes on me.

At the time, I didn't understand why, I just chalked it up to the fact that I was the Cute CameraGirl out there that day. In fact, their remaining near me throughout the march annoyed me some, until I realized, they were there for my protection.

So often, we do not ask our Brothers to protect us because recent history has shown that they do not and won't. But as the tides continue to change the vibes the winds carry, I'll be grateful for the positivity both on the horizon and presently here. Thank you my Kings for standing with me that day.
